The latest camera to the GoPro family is certainly the best yet. With high-quality images, voice commands for hands-free operation and underwater capabilities, this camera also recognises the social media age and will send your shots to the GoPro app and automatically transform them into videos with “QuikStories.” This makes it easy to upload your adventures to Instagram and Facebook.

Hero5

The Hero5 has a stunning 2-inch display where you can quickly adjust settings and trim your video with ease. It has a one-click shutter to start and stop recordings, so you can click and go! The shake-free feature means whether you hold or mount the camera, your videos will be stable for easy viewing. The Hero5 records in vibrant 4K video and takes pictures in 12MP in single, burst and time-lapse modes. Audio records in both left and right speakers for high-quality sound.

The Hero5 Session is even more compact to sit low and capture more action from a great perspective. It measures 37.9mm wide, 37.9mm tall and 36.1mm deep. You wouldn’t believe that this small cube can do so much. Like the standard Hero5, the Session captures 4k video and is shake free. Photos are shot in 10MP. All of your images can be automatically uploaded to the cloud for easy access. The battery cannot be removed like the Hero5, but it can be replaced after it has gone through its lifespan of being recharged so many times.

The Hero Session, albeit small, delivers a high resolution of 1440p. Because it is so light and compact, it can be mounted on something like a helmet for great first-person perspective whilst cycling or kayaking. The Hero Session can take up to 10 photos per second in burst mode, or set time-lapse intervals from 0.5 to 60 seconds. Pictures are taken at 8MP. The Hero Session does not come with QuikStories, but it is very simple to use. If you want a basic GoPro to take virtually anywhere, then this is a good choice.
